Hello,
Just installed debian (version 5). Now i've never used linux in a deskop enviroment so i'm a little stuck.
Firstly, i want to get rid of the dodgy web browser and install firefox. When i do a normal apt-get from the terminal i get the following;
So i downloaded it from mozilla's website, i run the firefox.sh file and it runs firefox, not install it. How do i go about installing this?
Also down to something im dreading, getting my GFX card installed. I want to use (i think its called compiz) to make the desktop look all swish. Is it simply get the drivers from nvidia's website? (i've got the 9600 GSO). Anyone recommend any add-ons, gadgets/widgets etc?
Many thanks and sorry for the weak questions.

Code:
Package firefox is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
However the following packages replace it:
iceweasel
E: Package firefox has no installation candidate
So i downloaded it from mozilla's website, i run the firefox.sh file and it runs firefox, not install it. How do i go about installing this?
