I would be fine with anything under 90 C tbh, but everyone has a different temperature threshold. You could set a custom fan profile, which should reduce the temps a bit, but it depends on the level of noise you are happy with. The room my rig is in is fairly small so it is pretty much like an oven with the rig folding 24/7. If you can, try blowing the dust out of the graphics card using some compressed air to see if that helps temps a bit without having to mess about with a custom fan profile.

Thanks so much for your help my room too is small and I get the same effect but if 90C is ok then I'm ok cause I haven't hit that mark yet, Hopefully I will be out of this place by summer so I can continue to fold all year round.

You're welcome

. I was folding at 90 C for a couple of weeks with no problems so you should be fine. The window in my home office/gaming room has a window, but it can't be opened. As long as my temps stay below 90 C I'm happy

. Have you overclocked your CPU at all?

No my cpu is stock I tried to overclock but it crashed my whole system and damaged windows so I leave everything at stock TBH I think I might have a problem with my psu so soon Im going to replace it and maybe try overclocking again. My psu is a Corsair HX650.

I have a 750w PSU with an overclocked (factory) 580 and overclocked CPU (4GHz). The overclocks are not massive by any means and my PSU fan is not audible at all over the other fans in my system. I'm not sure what the power draw is, but I'm guessing it would be under 600w. I might get a plug in electricity calculator to find out the power draw so I have an idea of how much headroom I have. A 650w should be fine even for my conservative overclocks so it might just be that you needed more volts or you missed a setting or two in the BIOS for the CPU overclock.

Well when I turn up the case fans which are running off twelve volts my cpu fan slows down considerably and it is connected to the motherboard cpu pins and I don't think it should do that.

Turning up your case fans will increase airflow, lowering the CPU's temps and as a result causing the CPU fan to slow down. If you want you can go into the BIOS and tweak the fan settings to not slow down.

I just tried turning the case fans up and instantly the cpu fan slowed down, the instant I turn them down the cpu fan speeds up but interestingly once it slows down it does speed back up a little.
