It's going to get warm in here!

I think it is probobly going to get a little warm in here when I get back tomorrow. I got a couple of 8 core servers folding, a 16 core server as well as my desktop with the 3770k and 2 780s.

The APC UPS shows about a 17 amp draw from the wall and well my computer is probobly around 7. So we are using a little bit of electricity too.

Just curious as to what this will show up for PPD as I can't keep this up, the electricity and heat would be a little extreme.

Nice farm you have there. B) I'd guess 450k - 550k with the majority coming from your 780s. I have a 24 core server cranking away and it only produces 40k-60k PPD.

Ya the 780s are about 150K each. And the 3770K is 20K lol. As for all the servers I have no idea what they are even doing, all I can see is that the cpu's are running at 100% as I have no graphical interface.

You should be able to monitor them with the folding@home client on your PC. That's how I monitor my server, no gui as well running centos.

Pretty bad numbers there when my desktop is doing almost all of the work. Guess the servers are too old. They are running ESXi on them as well with other virtual machines running so I suppose that doesn't help.

damn thats alot of kit!....150k from 780 you say....am i just getting lucky with wu's or something, the last few days around 200k (1200mhz).....Im super new so i dont really understand the nuances, I dont fold 24 hours a day either so i suppose its potential 200k :D

It is a shame cpu folding points don't scale, less efficient sure but the resource investment is much higher

Ya they are still at 150K but they are running stock clocks as well. Might make a little differenct but I don't think it would account for another 50K. You must have some awesome wu's.

I shut everything off besides my dekstop today as it was ~90 degrees in the server closet. Exhausting out the top of the rack was over 100 degrees, and the UPS said the internal temperature was at 110 degrees lol.

When I read that I was expecting a discussion about the beautiful weather (weather supposedly peaked at about 30 degrees Celcius or 86 degrees Fahrenheit today).

Those are some beasty rigs you got there mate! Should yield some nice points on F@H indeed.
