If not what other information can I get hold of to find out without lifting the ramsinks.

The PC3500 is BH5, the PC3200 is BH6 afaik

The muskin lvl 2 Black is BH5

if its Lvl 2 Special 2,2,2 its BH6.

pretty certain thats how they did it.

The special stuff was the replacment for the BH5 as stocks ran low

Yup that's dead right, If you want BH-5 it MUST be Level II PC3500 and it's about as good as old-skool BH-5 gets, the Level II PC3200 V.2 is TCCD. The Special 2-2-2 is BH-6 and clocks pretty well too although it's a little more volt hungry than BH-5 obviously.
