Hi guys I need a bit of information. Basically my pc specs are: i5 4570, MSI B85 G43 Gaming, 16 Gb (4x4 Gb) Corsair Vengeance LP DDR3 1600, Corsair RM 650, GTX 770 etc etc.
I helped my friend build his system around a i7 4790K and he has now decided after 5 weeks (??? please don't ask me why-more money than sense lol) he wants to upgrade to a Haswell E , DDR4 setup.
His current motherboard and memory will be going to his dads system but he's offered me the cpu for the cost of a new i5 4670K. He has hinted that my services in rebuilding the system would gain me a bit more of a discount. I am tempted but money is tight and I could afford the cpu upgrade as I already have a possible buyer for my current cpu but my question is this, would it function properly on my board, would turbo boost run normally to 4.4 Ghz?
I don't wish to overclock, my system is mainly geared to low noise. I have the latest bios and drivers etc and the the MSI site says it is supported but I'm just dotting the I's and crossing the T's on this. Any answers would be gratefully received.
