hey all,

as you all know i got a opty 170 comign n stuff, well i dont have a mobo or nothing and im wondering is there really any point in buying a mobo, psu, case, cpu cooler, hard drives? i mean SKT 939 is dead now, i cant even find a asus a8n32 board or anything, ok i got an offer from xms but i really want sli i never had it,

any way is thre much point? i mena i could sell the ram, 2 x 7800gtx and opty that does at least 2.9ghz for say £300 - 400 or am i being tooooo.... whats teh word, greedy? i could get that save it then possibly get a C2D rig, i been of the computing scene since last summer and tbh i lost track i mean since when was there quad core CPUS ???? i just lost track and im learning again slowly, ok so i get teh fact C2D's are the new A64 with games and they are pwnage with overclocking but why?

guys im really stuck and i need some help and a slap back to current hardware help me!!!!

939 is still one of the best sockets ever. And just to put it in perspective i just spent £310 on a c2d, mobo, ram and PSU. And the ram and PSU were 1/2 retail price.

Here you go. One mobo, couple it with a Hiper 500-700w PSU and an 80GB drive and youll be fine.

'Here' is a link... Hence the underlining

Im not too sure, post it up in the ST forums on here and ask.

nope they dont accept papal :'( if i was to get the opty up n running even with one GTX reakon the system would hang out for a while?

Why not paypal the money to a mate who can then use their card to buy it?

And yea that system would still last you quite some time

Well and it should last you a fair year. 939 is still a strong socket, epesialy at 2.9ghz.

939 all the way! :)

As said already 939 is still one hell of a awesome socket!

If you ask me it would be worth it! :p

well my dad being the nice person he is has just bought me a sli-dr. 22"TFT, 4 x 74gb 16mb cache raptors and enermax psu, wether he being seriousor not is another question, just ahve to wait n see he plays little kjokz on me no wand again, but if he has well sickoooooooooooooooooo pc

939 For the win!

Personally I'm waiting for AMD to release the new REAL quad-core CPUs and blast Intel out of the park... and then I won't buy one 'cos I still won't be able to afford it. I'll probably jump to AM2 with a FX-62 which can still pwn all these Intel Dual core attempts, tried and tested.
