I keep mine off all the time mainly because i havn;t got a window for the side of my case

It also drops temps quite a bit - you just need to hoover the dust out of it a bit more often

Well I have mine on as I have a fan running on the side panel....a blowhole that I made...this keeps the temps down!

I mean...ideally you would have the side panel on, as long as you have adequate case cooling!

If you get good airflow with the side on, then taking the side off will make your fans pointless and unless you have a breeze going through it's going to be better with it on

But if you have shit airflow it's going to drop the temps

Its hit and miss, if you have no air circulation in the case it will improve temps as it allows the CPU fan access to more (hopefully) cooler air. However if you have extra fans installed it buggers up the flow, as they just pump air around the room and not really wash it over components so well.
