Interesting 1080 suposed performance video.

Well no one is forcing anyone to buy anything.

Its really too bad that some people just cant see.

The few pay for the idiocy of the majority.

nVida rulz.. Right.

Nvidia UK dont even have any yet, the only UK reviews are people that went to the states to get them. Was a massive f,up in shipping apparently with a box of cards going on a round the world trip.

Ouch :(

Hope the mass shipping of retail cards doesn't go the same way.

See this is the genuine truth as to why they are so expensive, it's the accumulated import export taxes  but damn NVIDIA are really racking up those frequent flyer miles.

If the 1080 comes in at over £600 then they can go suck a bag of severed male reproductive organs.

£499, £549 yeah ok but anything over that is just price gouging.

What do you think they are doing to both the 1080/70? The retail prices compared to there replacements(980/970) are much higher. They are price gouging already because they know people will buy them anyways. Don't even get me started on the FE series either. Far worse...

If ya dont want to pay the premium then just wait. Always gonna be early adopters who will pay almost anything just to have the new best thing.

Well I have to say that I'm a bit worried about the assembly quality of the Founder's Edition after seeing this video below.

Not that dismassebly seems to be an issue, but reassembling the card in its original form might cause some issues if you're not extremely careful. And also if you're going to water cool the card, don't even consider reusing the original back plate with that wonky mounting system.

Is this OC3D or the Communist Forums?

I mean, I would also like for the TOP cards to be much cheaper. Also nice cars. But to accuse a company of wrong doings because they put a price on a product that gives the most profit ... well, that is just wrong on a million levels.

Trust me, when I say that all companies set their prices as high as the market can accept to produce the most profit. AMD does exactly the same. Along with all other companies.

Any company that does not, will loose all shareholder support and likely go bankrupt within a very short time-frame.

Go buy shares in Nvidia if you feel they are 'too good' to make money. That way YOU will also make money. Put them into buying graphics cards, and solve your problem and stop whining :-)

Or buy 'cheap' AMD cards and play at a little less than extreme cutting edge for *much* less money.

There are plenty of options, even with only the two players on the field.

Well I can agree to a certain point MiNo, however your post is a bit harsh. Everyone here is entitled to their opinion in the end.

Plenty of options but only two players. I love that oxymoron.

You have a right to you're pro business opinion. However you're completely missing the point here. And in the future, there's no need to be all passive aggressive.

I'm sorry, I did not mean for my aggressiveness to sound passive ;-)

I do feel there is a element of whining going on. While people are entitled to whine, I feel entitled to point out that it's not really that good an argument to say "it's not fair that a Rolls Royce is so expensive 'cause i really want one"

I will also maintain, that there are PLENTY of useful cards out there, at various price points and performance levels. Even if they are from only 2 companies.

The opportunity for a company like Nvidia to make serious cash is what motivates them to pump many many millions into research. This means more performance and innovations for us as games to enjoy. How anyone can see this as a bad thing, is impossible for me to understand. Especially since all the progress also means good things for the cheap and mid cards.

And should Nvidia push prices too hard, this immediately opens up business for AMD.

I totally understand that it is unpleasant not to be able to buy the best card all the time - especially if you were able to do so earlier when top cards costed less.

Just because there is a Bugatti Veyron on the market, that does not affect my happiness over my new Skoda Octavia (even after 150% car tax)

If the 1080 is not for you, then enjoy that is pushes prices down for many other cards.

What's not to like? What point am I missing?

MSI 980ti's have already dropped 1000 DKK here ( £110 ) since the benchmarks of the 1080 got out 2 days ago.

Just saying, that if you hate all there is about the 1080 then go get yourself a much cheaper 980ti. Win-Win. Not Whine-Whine :-D

No one was ever whining. You're making an argument out of nothing.

Perhaps a cultural thing, but in my ears this is Whining "If the 1080 comes in at over £600 then they can go suck a bag of severed male reproductive organs."

While disguised, it's still whining.

Anyways, lets get back on track. I did not mean to offend anyone actually, only pointing out all the good that comes from the new cards - no matter if you buy them or not. Have a great day.

That original comment was from me and it wasn't whining just a statement and adding a bit of fun to it ^_^

There was a rumour going around some other forums that the 1080 is coming in at £699, 6770 Danish Krone, If so then I'm going to stick to the 770 I have and just take my £550 and buy an XB1 with lots of games like Gears, Halo etc.... :)

Lolz ^_^

I played Halo and gears recently at a mates place and I have to admit not only did they look brilliant but they played exceptionally well.

Video in the OP is total garbage, I gave up watching after 2 mins.

If the guy has to use bad language to get a point across it is rather weak.

I also think it is pointless nit picking about Jen Hsun Huang's sales pitch when people can check the performance in reviews.

I am looking forward to TTL's Video later today, he may like the 1080 or he may dislike it but he will do a professional review.
