Intel Skylake benchmarks thread

These popped up today, have a look:

The first performance benchmarks of Intel’s next generation Skylake, Core i7-6700K have been leaked against the Devil’s Canyon based Core i7-4790K by TechBang. The results which compare the performance of the Core i7-6700K 14 nm processor versus the 22nm Core i7-4790K were tested on their specific platforms which include the Z170 for Skylake and Z97 for Devil’s Canyon.

Nope and let's face it, neither will Kaby Lake, Cannonlake, or whatever comes next  It's probably more about chipset features rather expecting huge CPU performance increases.

Very true, I am personally going to upgrade to Kabylake when that hits, will probably be 10% better than DC but with better thermals :)

That's one thing that's for sure; lower power usage for equal or better performance (slightly) and likely better thermals. I just hope that for Skylake and onwards they are going to solder them darn IHS and not keep it reserved for the E platforms.

Knowing myself I'll probably end up with Skylake and Z170 (Asus ROG Maximus VIII Hero is looking good!) and maybe, just maybe if Kaby Lake is worth it, chuck one of them in if it's a bargain and enjoy the next 4-5 years. But first I'm going to wait and see what Skylake can do once it gets out before I decide on buying anything (will need a CPU, motherboard, RAM (I need more models from vendors to come out because right now the selection is very small and mostly expensive - except Vengeange LPX if that's any good - which surely will happen next month) and CPU AIO (here's to hoping the H105 is compatible with LGA1151)). I just want some new toys to play with, something fresh and new.

EDIT: Overclocked to 5.2GHz...?

EDIT 2 That same site clocked one to 6.5GHz at a whopping 2+ volts.

Both cpu-z validated...
