Intel Core i7 3930k Overclocking

Hi all!

Just needs some help, i got a PC from alienware and when i choose the level of overclocking it just locks up on the windows screen. only whenever it overclocks and also this is only to about 3.9GHz :\ could it be power, dodgy cpu i have no idea

my specs are intel core i7 3930k, GTX 580, 8GB RAM

i can get more info if needed

as you can tell im not all that great with PC's

I have two 3930k rigs, both are overclocked, I had locks on windows screens which was fixed by a vcore increase. I'm not sure what you mean by "when i choose the level of overclocking" are you selecting some preset overclocks that alienware have saved as profiles in the BIOS? you need to provide some more details about the overclocking you are attempting.

yes, they are preset ones by alienware, i used to be able to do it easy on my old pc and worked fine, but not sure how to do it in this bios
