I have a p8z68 v pro and I've installed the 24 pin power to the mother board but the other end has a shorter connection with another 8 pin attached to it now do i leave that out of the power supply or plug it in?

Much appreciate any help thank you.

Sorry the power supply i have is an ax 850 thankyou.

P.s i think its 8 pin it could be 6 I'm not quite sure as I'm not sat in front of it at the moment. There two cables at the end of it anyway so do i need to plg in both. Cheers.

Sorry for being thick.

look at it this way might make sense the mobo cables are sleeved and the pci-e and molex/sata cables are black wire. the ax850 comeswith 2 sets of 8pin connectors for the mobo and unless ur mobo has 2 you only need one.they put the extra one on for those who have dual 8pin mobo connectors and who need the extra power for the mobo

hope this helped

I dont mean to be funny but i didnt understand a word of that.

I'm talking about the 24 pin atx power cable here. One side is 24 pin and the other has a 20 pin connector but also an 8 pin connector. do pi put this 8 pin into the psu too?

Im not talking about the 8 pin that goes in the top right of the motherboard.

Cheers Adam.

EDIT : Ok i just got what you said but this is not what im on about as above

oh lmao its a 20+4 pin 20pin for older systems and 24 for current ones. yes they both need to be plugged it. Normall you put them together and then plug in

my apologies for the mis read

No no thankyou sire !

I am stuck however as its 24 pin on one side and then on the other there are two cables being 18 and the other 10 pins.

i just got home and saw it again.

I'm thinking your looking at the psu side of the cable the booklet should show you where each cable plugs into.

damn double post lol swore I edited

Where do I fit the molex leading from the front panel on the 600T? I have tried fiting it to a cable leading from the psu but it seems a real struggle to get it in. I'm also having the same problem with the molex on the H100, they dont seem to fit the power cables provided with the AX 850 PSU. Funny thing is the front panel molex fits perectly into the corsair H100 molex. That isn't the place is it? I can't see where the power is comming from if that's the case.

I know the molex's have different shapes to help you fit them but I cant believe how tight it is and i dont want to break the pins if I'm wrong, can someone enlighten me please?

Cheers.

they probably (pins) werent lined up exactly lol one of the things I hate about molex plugs. Some go straight in other ya have to wiggle about, The molex for my XSPC pump/rez was like that the pins eventually fell out and wouldnt stay in so I bypassed the plastic part lol.

WIcked cheers. I actually found two extensions that came with the H100 but for some reason i missplaced them with all the wires from all the box's and then found them right after i managed to wigle some cables together!

I may use the ones that came with the H100 or just stick with the ones i got with the PSU. I will have to see when it comes down to the cable managment. Gulp!
