Hi my 8800gt died today and it should be still in warrenty,

came back from work to find that my computer wouldent boot and there was a single continuos beep, changed the gpu over with a spare i had and it booted fine, so its definatly the gpu tryed it in another computer and it did the same thing

just trying to find out if anyone else has had to send a card back

What choice do you have?

Best thing is to contact the service department by email and ask them how you should proceed (don't give them any actual information about you, just ask them, informally). There are cases when the card should have been registered in order to be eligible for warranty.

If you changed the cooling on the card, or if you even changed the cooling goo then you could have problems. Another problem would be the transferable warranty. They don't have any. So you should be the first actual owner of the card. But if the card is like it was when new, you shouldn't have problems.
