Increase broadband speeds?

Sorry that this is in the wrong forum, but I wasn't sure where to post it. What I need is a way to increase my broadband internet speed, but without changing provider. Anyone got any methods?

What the hell u need that faster than that for? I'm getting by on a 512kb :)

Whats ur upload speed btw?
 
You can use that compression software *shudders* thats normally advertised for people on dialup to get 'near broadband' speeds.

It will only help with web browsing, and any web based uncompressed content. It wont make any difference to things like gaming etc.
 
The reason I'm trying to get faster speeds is Blueyonder seems to be slowing down as of late. Download speed seems to have halved, and my ping in CS is around 50 now :mad:

There is a hack available for my cable modem, but here in Australia (if caught using it) I run the risk of never getting connected to an ISP again (ever) or have the sherriff rock up on my door and subpoena me to court :mad: I dunno what the risk is in the UK Spectre, but it'd have to be very similar I'd imagine. Other peeps have had similar problems on Blue yonder

If your in an IPmax area you can get 8mb ADSL from our mates at IDnet, I cant however because bloddy BT made my line to long, as its routed around a hill or something, I wont go into it.

If your in a LLU area you could get 24mbs ADSL2 as long as you live about 20 mtrs from your exchange.

Yeh, most places are looking at the end of march for DSL max, but the problem is that may be Datastream Max and not IPstream Max.

It's a total breech of contract but when the hell did that ever stop me? LOL... I like underage women too, but the law doesn't stop me! haha
