Im just arragining pic up times and all that for my first ever phase unit. I once told my self id never do it but i what to push this E5200 to its limits so im buying a second hand unit.

Just waiting pick up times and all that and will keep this tread updated.

Time to start researching what im going to need .....

Congrats, your E5200 does seem to have potential!

As for what you need, insulation do you mean?

Kneaded eraser for a clean board or use nail varnish / vaseline if you don't mind. Neoprene and j-cloths have also been used to help.

Armaflex sheet on the back, eraser around and in the socket and a gasket cut to fit the board is all you really need.

Want me to post a piccy of my currently insulated board for an idea?

Ham's prolly your best man, but as far as insulation goes, I've heard quite a few good things about rubber paint like this. Obviously nice and easy to spread on. If you get a black one it wont stand out too much on the motherboard and best of all if you ever need to rma the board you can just peel it off (if you paint it on thick enough).

Dielectric grease makes an awful mess and can be a RIGHT PITA to clean up.

To be even more safe I really need more eraser on the socket. This setups is used with a rather large doughnut though so it squishes everything into place. That's what causes the impression in the gasket.

thks ham.

I know from the past ppl had issues with different types of rubber so what's the best

Whats the best TIM to use as well.

Ceramique for tim.

I wouldn't recommend the eraser ive got, its too stiff. There's a thread on btuk with links to products the guys there use, but i cant find i atm -_-.

been looking through and reading up a bit tonight.

A lot of ppl have Evap clamp shells and to me i think it looks like a real good idea. problem is were do u get these from ....

Thats really just a method of mounting. I'm not 100% sure what you've got but it looks an awful lot like a duniek mount, there for you've got that sorted

Im Pickering her up this morning, Just getting ready now.

It will be a few weeks before i can play though need to pay for other parts just as eraser and all that lol.

You've got liquid tape & insulation sheets in that pic you posted. You could get away with them alone for insulation with little trouble.

i have . ive been playing and i watched top gear lol ....

Ill upload a few . haven't done any thing yet though gonna wait till ive done more reading up and got some rubber for it.
