IE wont work.

hey everyone right now im at my friends house, trying to fix there lappy, its a HP R3000, specs shoudnt matter, basically IE does not work h/e firefox works to some degree, i wanna say its a virus cause when i opened IE one time it just spas'd out and kept on openening multiple IE @ once. I put another virus scanner on here Mcafee but it wont update b/c of the internet, should i just do a reformat or what?

it just locks up sometimes and wont load pages.

If your sure it was a virus id reformat. Back up all his wanted data to another PC on the network/CDs/Flash drives.

Try clearing all his temporary internet files (or clearing the private data on FF), and cookies and then try. I've gotten a few viruses back when I didn't have NOD32 that were just attached to these files.

my internet explorer doesnt work either after i updated to 7.0 version

keeps shutting as soon as i open it

problem solved:

Control Panel>Add Remove Progams>Add Remove Windows Components>Deselect IE. go all the way till finish close all windows open.

Then just reinstall it.
