iBUYPOWER releases MINE systems for mining virtual coins

Mining cryptocurrencys has became more and more popular as Bitcoin, Coinye, Litecoin and others hit the headlines.

Many PC users have until now been able to generate some serious money mining, compensating for their electricity use and hardware costs. This depends highly on the current price of the currency and the ease of mining, with the most famous online currency Bitcoin being unfeasible to mine using consumer CPUs and GPUs for some time.

On Tuesday the US PC builder iBUYPOWER announced their range of PCs dedicated to mining digital currency, with specs ranging from dual R9 270Xs to triple 290Xs.

Their two base specifications are as follows;

The rigs remain highly customize-able by the purchaser, with options like sound deadening, upgraded cooling, PSU, GPU upgrades and even case lightning.

It is undoubted that these mining grade PCs on offer are ideally suited to mining digital currency, but with how quickly mining difficulty is changing a currency which is currently profitable may not be in a few months time.

With the current variability in the cryptocurrency market it is highly recommended to no start serious mining without first knowing what you are doing, what currencies are currently the most profitable and how long it will take to recoup the cost of a mining PC.

Questions are also being asked as to whether or not PCs using consumer grade components can be a good investment for 24/7 use under full load, I expect plenty of returns for GPUs, especially for users of multiple stock R9 290s or 290Xs.

What do you guys think of building dedicated mining PCs? Are any of you guys considering building a miner of your own? Please comment below.

It seems interesting that a company would invest in releasing dedicated mining PCs when the cryptocurrency world is currently so volatile, the demand may be high recently, but it seems like it will go downhill from here with countries beginning to ban the currencies. In a few months time, there may be no demand any more, and they would've just wasted their money and time producing these machines.

I think most people that would be into mining cryptocurrencies would be quite capable of building their own system as well to be honest.

They are just cashing in on the people jumping aboard the mining ship.

Not to different from the people doing the mining, instead of mining bitcoins they are mining the miners pockets and selling them premium priced mining rigs :p

The volatility of the market won't harm iBUYPOWER so long as there is demand for their mining PCs, if the market were to suddenly disappear the components can easily be used for other Rigs.

Things like this help iBUYPOWER get their name out there too, people will see these MEGA PCs from ibuypower and think their lower end more consumer/ gamer focused PCs will be great as well.

iBUYPOWER are not putting themselves at any risk by doing this, the miners which buy these Rigs could be considered much bigger risk takers in the highly variable cryptocurrency market.

The world has gone mad...

Bargain prices right there :D

All aboard the mining train. Woot!! Woot!!

EDIT

Just added that Intel system up and it comes to around £900 total for parts including a case but they obviously buy parts in bulk and get them much cheaper. :\

Yeah, that's a good point actually. I didn't even consider just reusing the parts lol.

Mining on anything but an ASICS platform is pointless these days. You'll never recoup your investment using graphics cards any more, compare the hash rates to a similar priced ASICS system and you'll see why.
