i7 7820X Overclocking

So, my CPU arrived and all is good. Its an engineering sample though which I wasn't expecting.

Did the guy you are buying it from mention how it overclocks.

Some of the Engineering samples I have seen people running have been locked at silly low speeds on the other hand I saw a guy overclock an ES of an intel i7 980 to 5.0ghz which was massive with watercooling.

He didn't mention anything about overclocking. I'm trying my best to be patient and wait for some EPS cables to arrive before I test it. Otherwise I'll have to drain my loop again tomorrow just to sort that out :lol:

I just looked up the code and it simply said "7820x engineering sample". Which is odd, because they don't usually give out full retail ready samples. They lock them down.. Then whoever is selling them finds the closest Xeon and sells them as that.

Unfortunately I'm never going to come close to a HOF 1080ti, I'll give it a shot though!
