Hello, i have a crosshair formula 3 lying about that i wanna build a rig with, i got a 1100T and just noticed there is no retention bracket on the motherboard, could you people advice me own a good cooler which has its own framework that doesn't required the retention plate? was thinking water cooling but too expensive

Thanks

How much are you looking to spend?

Basically every after market cooler comes with it's own retention system anyway:

The CM Hyper 212+ range are very good for the price.
If you fancy spending a little more, the bequiet coolers are good, as well as the NZXT Havik 120 and 140, if your budget can stretch that far. After that, the Noctua D14 all the way

As said above a lot of Cooler manufacturers supply them with the cooler, if your unsure you can always send them an email or email the retailer before you buy.

ok basically doesnt matter reallly what it costs, im looking a quiet but cool machine, any info on quiet case fans and vga coolers would be helpful too, nocyua D14? how good is it? thanks

NH D-14 is one of the best air heatsinks imo,
depends on how much overclocking your doing to the CPU and how cool you want it really

truth be told with my 1090T I saw no real difference in temps between the D-14 and 212+ Yes the D-14 is king of air coolers but s those AMD chips dont run as hot not a major issue. Only reason I got the D-14 was to see how much higher my oc would go and yes it helped but not a 24/7 oc lol to much volts.
