I H8 iPods !!!!!!!

I am an iPod owner and I have always hated the things (pretentious + low quality) , I finally succumbed to their allure due to rockbox + the prospect of 80G in my pocket ( @ the time the classics weren't out)

So recently I finally became an advocate for the devices with not as much hatred for them.

I have a Game project to hand in tomorrow , that I had almost finished -- as i moved between puters/OSes during completion of this project I used my iPod as a HDD.

BIG MISTAKE

the HDD in it died earlier !

I had had most of it backed up bar 1 weeks worth of Images, Sounds and the networking + collision detection algorithms for my game project on it!

Right now im listening to my 4 Yo Zen in the 24hr library coding like a frantic donkey trying to get away from a hotdog factory!!

the rat of a player is under warranty

Props to my lecturer for understanding my plight and has offered me an extension until Monday.

on a happi note i love SSH ... in library with all the ports I want from my LAN forwarded to mi 127.0.0.1 aka i have VNC access to my server + as a customer of a certain IP - Monitored site ( -- u no the 1) i can DL file and get my serv downloading them so when im finished here i can go home and watch summat good

agreed, iPods are wicked.. im lookin to get a new 8Gb Nano for christmas. im pumped.

I remember i was anti-iPod when the 1st gen came out cause of all the problems that was with it. i bought a creative zen and loved it. Now i cant get over how slick the New iPods look and how excellent the interface is.

I dont know what it is with Ipod's but I go through little stages of really wanting one. Then once I have it its like 'meh' and I sell it and then 6 months down the line I want one again.

My Walkman phone seems to have done the trick though, havent had an Ipod craving for a while

I'm a bit anti the Tofu eating, mac hippy, PC sux0rs brigade and not a Mac fan, or iSheep as I call them.

That said, I've just bought an 8GB Touch, primarily for its wireless browsing capabilities. It's a sweet little gadget, but it won't convert me to bow at Jobs' feet. Macs have their place and what suits you is your choice, won't see me buying a PC replacement though.

Still hate iTunes.

I agree, I have never owned an Ipod but I have seen so many die for one reason or another.

They have never really appealed to me! they have become more of a trendy thing rather than a piece of true tech. Has anyone ever tried a Zune? I like my creative again, Creative (altho they took their time receiving/sending it back, i got a brand new/very well refurbished unit )

As for Itunes..urgh

I just found my first ipod (I'm an ipod whore) in my drawer after it died 2 years ago, restored and everything several times over and still gets the file with exclamation mark on it when it boots up.

Went to the ipod service page to find its £170 to get it fixed, for a second generation ipod...

Now I remember why I just bought a new one when the first video ones arrived
