this is a little off topic but what is an easy way to share a folder or file over the net... i recall a program that made an http for your ip and you could share a folder... and friends could go to http://your.ip.bla and download it.... any ideas?
awww so much for all that... kempez had to sign off... we were trying to find a way to send a 400meg file with more than one connection.... because thats faster than a single
There's nothing I hate more than trying to send a large file to a friend... Such a pain in the ass. You could have kemp torrent the file to you, that would support resume too in case something were to happen to either of your connections during the transfer.
Just a quick tip, RAR the files into 15meg chunks and send. Theres nothing worse that getting to around 350meg to find that the connection drops and you have no way to resume
FTP server would be easier to setup tbh if its just file transfers you want, if its one time send only try irc dcc send ( mirc ) join same network , just create any channel then send the file. Both supports resumes incase connection drops.
You should use Fastream NETFile FTP/Web Server, it is one of the easiest file server to setup. And you can either use HTTP and/or FTP for your server. It works flawlessly and you can get it for Free... The free version has some limitations but it does the job well. If you want more control then buy the pro version.
