How to mod a ddc pro Into a ddc ultra. By Robump 56k warning

You could go for one of those conductive pens, but i've no idea how easy they are to clean up :/

Nearly impossible... lol. I don't use a pen so much as conductive paint though.

I just did it with a bot of soler, so it can be easily removed

Yup, I've got to agree with Ayd on this one.. We've had this problem before and Laing simply will not accept these pumps back under RMA thus voiding the warranty for us to them and you to us retailers.

Although this is probably exactly how Laing change the Pro to the Ultra in there factories, they won't accept them back if there is any kind of after market solder or heat on the board.

My advice would be to use a Conductive Silver pen as they are easy to remove if/when your pump dies.

I'm gonna add something:

Guys please note this ONLY works on BLUE IMPELLER DDCs (the DDC3.1). And on a side note, the DDC 3.1 and DDC 3.2 have quite a bit worse performance than the old DDCs. This little mod was posted on XS a few months ago, nothing new actually it originated from that german forum.

It is the flower button. Make sure that you're not too close to the pump, otherwise the macro function still wont be able to focus.

A little tip - If you can't get it to focus using macro (as you are too close), hold the camera further away, and zoom in a little whilst still in macro mode

I take it you're letting the camera focus before you're taking the photo? Half press hold, and it should focus properly

Yep i certainly am, but my build is taking place on tuesday, so if you need anymore photos be wuick and ask me for them becuase it is going in a loop on tuesday.
