How to log into a network

In order to conect to my school internet with unfiltered internet I need to log in with my username and password, however I can't find a way to log in on iOS.

Any help would be appreciated thanks

Is there a place where you can set your username and password in the WiFi setup screens? I'm not too experienced with iOS, but my friends had to do the same thing to connect to our school internet a couple years ago

Normally a setup like this would redirect you to a log in web page. What does it look like if you sign in from a normal PC?

The only password you can specify otherwise is a proxy address with username and password. That will be in the setup section of the wifi connection.

You boot the machine and you get roughly this : http://windows7forums.com/attachmen...-old-xp-network-logon-screen-back-xplogon.jpg

The name is obviously different as is the domain.

Basically there are two servers we can connect to, one is open and has filtered access for certain students and the other we have to use are college logins to connect but it has un-restricted. I can connect to the unrestricted one on my mobile but it wont load anything, i just need a way to enter my login details and then i should be able to use unfiltered internet.

I had a similar problem at my uni and what I did was "forget" the wifi connection to the uni network and then search for the connections again, which solved my problem. Its worth a go.

You won't be able to sign into a domain. My guess is they are probably using a proxy server to give you access. You don't notice this because it's using NTLM auth (basically using your windows credentials for proxy authentication).

After you sign into the workstation, try to pull up Internet Options in Internet Explorer. Go to the Connections Tab, then click on LAN settings. Towards the bottom, look and see if "Use a proxy server" is checked. If it is, get the address and port number from there. You would then need to put that info into the proxy section of the wireless profile on your iPhone.

That's exactly what I have already done, like I said there are two proxys I can join and the one I want I need to log into to load anything, when there's a will there's a way.

There are two domains you can join. Domain != proxy. I'm assuming if they are using a proxy for Internet access they are assigning it via GPO based on your login. I use a squid/dansguardian proxy server at work to cache, filter, and monitor my Internet users.

Hi mate,

Firstly go to the wi-fi menu,

Click on the little blue icon on the edge of the bar with the network name on it once joined...

then scroll down to HTTP proxy, then tap manual then use your username or password........ then find out what proxys your student profile uses, guessing you use IE8, go to tools in the top left hand corner, internet options, connection settings, then LAN settings...

Hope this helps..... please note that i had to email screenshots, hence the crap quality and size.........

Tom,
