How to black a monitor?

Hello,

Topic says it really. I purchased 2 second hand 21'' monitors that came in the usual ugly beige they used to come in. All my other kit is black or aluminum and they look shoddy and out of place.

So im just wondering if anyone has a link to or knows the best way I could black them all over?

Thanks for any help

use a good plastic primer tho or it will all peel off

alternately you could go blue peter and get a roll of sticky back plastic

The best way to do it so that it won't chip or anything is to use black vinyl dye. That will dye the plastic shell itself.

Just follow normal procedure of removing the casing... but BE CAREFUL... the capacitors in there WILL give you a shock big enough to stop your heart!

Once the casing is off... keep the monitor out of the way of anyone or anything... last thing you want is a child or cat crawling over it

Then vinyl dye the casing, leave to dry and re-apply :D

Wala!

Fom what I read vinyl dye is available from your nearest Halfords. Will be in the paint section as it is used to re-black car bumpers and other bits

Thanks - how would you describe the sorta finish it leaves you with? Glossy, matt, smooth, textured - or jeez, I wish I'd left it alone, it was only half bad in beige?
