With the release of the 780 Ti super juice black steroid edition is it worth me keeping hold of my 780's, Trading them in or waiting for Maxwell ?

*EDIT* Bearing in mind I did only get both about 4 months ago.

Depends if your money means anything to you.

I'd update other things first myself. I mean, unless you got 3x 2560, 30" monitors, I'd consider going down that road :p

(don't take this personally, this is my personal preference and belief for gaming)

I'd sell both of those monitors, maybe one of the 780s, and buy a 30" monitor with a proper gaming resolution.

These 1080 monitors crept into the market over the years, with the tag of being HD... well they are - for movies etc.. If I 'personally' bought a 24" (as the 27" will be designed off the back of a 24", not quite a 30" ) I'd be sure it was 1920x1200.

A nice 30", 2560x1600. In the gaming wqxga resolution range, not the wqhd 2560x1440 for movies!

EDIT: missed the post above - good :D

Depends on what resolution you game at. If it's just 1080p, then probably a long long time.

Rumor has it that Maxwell won't be upon us until Q4 next year, put emphasis on that word "rumor", because nothing official has come from nVidia yet.

It is worth noting that true "Next-Gen" GPUs going forward aren't going to be coming as often, mainly due to manufacturing reasons more than anything else. It's getting harder for them to roll out new fab process at the lower geometries ie. 32nm -> 28nm -> 20nm etc.

As an example to that, see how the GTX 700 series only contained two (soon to be three) new actual cards, most were re-brands or small tweaks. The R9 200 series is the same from AMD too; the 290 and 290X are the only new cards, the rest are re-brands.
