How can i fry my video card?

koda lets be honest here what your asking us to do is to Fruaduantly help you rip a company off because your bored with your graphics card.

what your doing is a criminal offence in the Uk and USA the USA carries a prison term of 5 years the uk is a £10000 fine and upto 10 years if we help you in you endevours then were just as liable.

so my advice to you is Dont do it tom and all staff @ oc3d and even members have a legal obligation to report you to the authorities for soliciting help for a fraudulant act i have already sent the link to this very thread over to the company your trying to rip off so good luck with that cause you will not get any help here..

+1, and Amen to that..

Then I guess it's good it's not Zotac but another company . I knew someone wouldn't like it.

And you expect us to be considerate to you when you come here with the intent to defraud a company and then play games of deception along with it?

Dude your moral compass is so far up your ass it's unbelievable.

someone ban this guy, it's just ridiculous. don't even try to reason with us, you try to screw a company because you suddenly don't like your card anymore. it's your responsibility to do your homework and find out if you like a card or not, not theirs. nobody here is going to help you rip off innocent people just so you can save a few bucks.
We won't support crimes on here.

Didn't you notice the sound and it being power hungry on day 1 ? Don't you think it would of made sense to sort the problem when you first bought it and not a year or however long it has been .

Dumbest thread/question I have ever seen. If you sold it, you could probably get a decent amount for it. Alternatively you could just keep it. Trying to fry it to get an RMA (Which will not get you a new card) is a completely retarded idea.

let's just hope he does it anyways, because they will find out. if companies can find out if you dropped your harddrive a bit too hard, they are so going to bust him for frying his card. would serve him right.

Right after reading this I ran to the loo and vomited. No lie. I don't know wether it was last nights dinner or the joke that the op put up. Is there anyway that his account details could be forwarded to the individual manufacturers if it isn't zotac so he is screwed whatever the actual maker he tries to contact. What a douche

Yeah, would be amazing if Tom just send an email with a heads up to all manufacturers. The dude fries his card and has nothing, I can live with that ;)

"Oh, need to commit fraud, better ask a forum for help" <- Smart kid right there! Posting about your criminal activities on the internet is always the best thing to do :D

Seriously ?

Even if you sold the card for near 1/2 price (450$) that would be enough to buy a GTX 680, yet you decide to not just try and rip off a Company, you try and get people in a forum to help you commit a crime ?

talk about going full Retard.

Sounds like someone is trolling...

If you're legit here's a solution, give it to me.

I agree must be a troll. Especially considering the post count.

Anyway if you are legit then I suggest you go and read your warranty properly.

Most companies wont cover you if you watercool your card so that would suggest that they will check your card which would seem like standard practice. If they see that the card has been tampered with or see that the card failed in an unusual way then they will not cover your card. They will like most companies see a bit of stock returned and will have a list of your typical warranty items and a list of what they will not cover. Eg a cars warranty will cover things like engine and gearboxes etc but will not cover clutches or brakes as they are deemed "perishable items" ie they wear out over time and use so they are not covered.

They idea of trying to put the card into the microwave is just idiotic. If you have ever accidentally put anything metallic in ie alu foil in then you will see burn marks all over it from the heat. This will happen to your card too and when you send it back they manufacturer will turn around and say go away you obviously tampered with the card.

Besides all that there is no guarantee you will get an improved card. What you will most likely get is a "B" grade or "old stock" or even a refurbished 590.

As for the money you spent you gotta be an idiot to try and justify you doing this because you wont get what you paid for it. That is life. That is the way everything works. Once you use it, open the box etc the value goes down. Why do you think they have a saying for cars "Once you drive it off the forecourt you loose 2k off its value".

It is called depreciation. It happens with everything. It is due to time and also the fact you have a new product replacing it.

My advice it keep the card and wait until you can afford a proper upgrade and you will be happier. You also do not run the risk of getting caught for fraud.

I would like to thank Koda, without his stupidity I wouldn't have had such a laugh today!

Thanks Koda, you're a star. A very "special" star.

Brian :)

And to those considering forwarding this post to all GPU companies, I already took care of Zotac, EVGA, MSI, and Asus. Only ones I had time to contact before work.
