How Bad/Good Is Fallout 76 ?

Resident Newb
I'm quite keen on the idea of playing with friends in a post apocalyptic world, But really how bad is FO76 ?

When you die do you lose all your stuff ?

Seems to be a marmite game. People either love it or absolutely hate it. Have yet to see any comments on a mid ground.

Will your build be ready then ?

I'm on the fence about buying it, Can pick it up for £20, I'm oooohing and arrrring about it ^_^

Yup all I need is 11mm black hose. Sadly the only place in the world that sells it in black in is sodding Hong Kong lol. Then I can fill/leak test but that shouldn't take long as most of the hardware has already been tested and works fine..

I know 99% of the videos on YT say it's terrible but it also said if you just want a sandbox for friends and family with no griefing it's actually quite fun. And that was all I wanted from it tbh.

Still want private servers so I can build large penis shaped buildings with huge balls for my friends to discover lmao. - that is what I mean by it being fun. I love exploring, and apparently the locations are pretty cool as well.

New patch just landed and the servers are currently down for a major update. I'll report back a little later with news. As for the state of game we're all smashing it and enjoying every minute, it has it's glichy moments but that's just Fallout.

Mind if I join you later tonight if you're on ?

There is a million Youtubers all slagging it off desperate for hits.

What cracks me up a bit is how they say "I've played it for 35 hours and it sucks".

Wait. You played it for thirty five hours and didn't like it?

Dang, if I get 35 hours out of it I will be well happy. Not many games can do that these days.

Thing is though it's an online game meant for co-op, I can almost guarantee a lot of the bad reviews are from people who played it mostly on their own, Even then they should realise an online game with this type of HUGE map will get a plethora of updates, Quality of life updates, Map expansions etc... WoW in the early days, Just as an example, Was utter tosh, Now look at it.

It all depends what you are looking for, dude. If you go into it expecting nothing you will have fun.

Everything wrong with it? it will get fixed. FO4 was positively horrible on launch. Anything further than about 100ft in the distance was blurred to all heck. Then all of a sudden they launch a patch and it's as clear as a bell. And what would you know? FO76 looks exactly the same.

FO4 now is an amazing game to play. It's been polished a lot, and it really shows. I expect the exact same from 76. I heard the music is fantastic as usual, too, so I have that and many hours of just mooching around to look forward to. For me a FO game is 60% about the quests and stories and then 40% of discovering every nook and cranny. So I doubt I will be disappointed. I always knew I would probably not like FO online, right from 2008 when it was being rumoured.

Hoping it gets the Gamedoesn'twork treatment, too. But aye, as soon as my PC powers up I will be installing it so I will give you a holler as my pal in the USA is waiting on me basically.

I expect a lot more than 35 hours from a game and so far have Arma 2 120 hours, Arma 3 230 hours, HOI 4 555 hours, Sniper Elite 150 hours, Warhammer 1 413 hours, Warhammer 2 577 hours and wargame franchise 300 hours.

Nice !

I'm going in expecting nothing but roaming around with some shooting and looting, I've tried to steer clear of reviews ^_^

My philosophy on games is that if they last longer than they took to earn then they are OK. Let's say I was on £10 an hour (lol, never, but I will use that as an example) then it would take me 5 hours of crap to earn a 5 hour game. Anything more than that is a bonus. There is no way I would play a game I did not like for 35 hours. I think if I had that much time to waste on something I didn't like I would just get married again.

I have probably put over a thousand hours into FO3 alone. There is not 1mm of ground in that game that you can access that I have not stood on.

35 hours in this day and age is quite a feat, given most games are a 4 hour blast.

was waiting years on this to drop i got 470 hours on 4 and who knows how much on Vegas back then
but soon as they said ''online'' and ''multiplayer'' i knew right away not even gona bother with that crap no quirky npc's AT ALL - just running about listening to holo tapes and accessing terminals

really disappointing after waiting all this time

at least make coop optional these games were made to be single player - yes i am one of them . Now they have burnt their own house down and took a dump on the ashes they will not fair well from this fiasco , game is already half price

you can say that im one of them that are bashing and slaggin it off cos didnt cater to my single player mode , well yes :D and they are ever so --> https://i.imgur.com/gFxUIxU.jpg

new borderlands-cyberpunk and metro hope these are worth it not to mention red dead if got a ps cos heard nothing but praise for that

Played it for an hour solo, Entertaining so far although I can tell the level grind is going to get boring very qickly and the none optional PvP is going to get annoying quickly.

I'm not that keen on buying it at full price, but at 25€ or so it might be a nice grindy game to wind down with.

Note that I don't own the game. But the scope of it seems more fitting to be an expansion for FO4 by the looks of it.
