Hot laptop

I know a lot of laptops get hot at the base, but with mine i notice that most of the heat is coming from the hdd area, in general it runs at around 50-ish degrees, which is pretty hot and can go hotter if in a lot of use.

This is probably not healthy for it, i was wondering is there any way of getting it cooler?

btw its a dell inspiron 6000 with 80Gb 5400rpm dirve.

Nope that is normal, my Tecra's SATA drive runs at 60 or more, burns the fuck out of my wrist. I take a paper towel, fold it in 4 and put my wrist on that :)

Man well thats one problem the industry needs to sort out about laptops, obviously we dont want a huge reduction in performance, but if its like you are typing on an oven whats the point!!! lol
