Home NAS Box

Hey,

I am after a home NAS box.

Reqs;

Atleast 2 drive bays

Needs raid so i can protect data

Works on Windows and Linux

Needs usb ports

That's all really, just somewere to dump all my files once a week for backup, won't be on 24/7.

Minimum of 2TB (1TB actual space with the other 1TB Raided backup).

Any ideas on products? Looking around £100.

Hi

Have u thought about maybe saving yerself some money and just building a small midi tower. Most mobo's now have enuff space for a few hard drives and the facility for onboard RAID. You can probably pick up the parts 2nd hand on flea bay and just build a small system for a lot less than an actual NAS box will cost you.

You wont get a box & drives for £100 matey, decent boxes wil cost that new tbh.

If £100 is you budget then Id buy some drives and use old pc parts to build a server/NAS

I don't really want to build a PC, due to energy bills, space and time.

£100 is just for the NAS Box, then i was looking at another £100 for drives.

Hey Mark if you phone up and Join the FS&W section Ive got a Netgear NAS box thats gigabit aswell and supports raid, its just sat here in the box doing nowt.
