Hmmm New SpeakerS?!

Questions:

1) If I upgrade to better speakers, do you think the Realtek ALC883 8-channel audio CODEC in my motherboard can produce nice sound? With my X-230s it sounds very crisp..

2) Any good speaker recommendations, preferably 5.1 that are good and will be on sale for black Friday (cheap price please!)

I think the Z-640s would be fine for you. But you will need to invest in a decent soundcard. Minium of an Audigy 2.

I was reading up on the 640s and the thing that troubles me is that the 640s don't have a ported subwoofer. In many reviews, people have been complaining about their subwoofers burning out. Would the 530s be better than? They boh don't use digital and the 530s are more recent..

Also, any other suggestions? I have about a week. I am looking for some nice speakers, preferable 5.1 and above but 2.1 high quality will work. Price range 40-60 bucks USD, ebay works kinda...thanks!

I would get the Logitech Z-540's. I think those are the ones you are talking about because i can't find the Z-640's.

the z-640s are out of production now. The 530s are the 540s without a remote. big whoop.

Ok. Yes the Z-540's are basically the same as the Z-530's but they are newer and i think they look better. I would personally get the Z-540's.

I have owned my set of Logitech Z-5500's for over a year now, the quality is surpreme when paired with my Creative X-Fi soundcard

i would vote for the x-530,they look sekc and from what ive heard are a great set of speakers.

the price well the price is pretty freakin good for a decent 5.1 setup tbh

hell i will probly even get a set myself when i have the money to spare

X-530s- around 40 bucks used

Zs are older though, but Z *supposedly* has better sound. But then again, Z *supposedly* has horrible mids. And Z's sub *supposedly* dies. Xs cables are *supposedly* short and X *supposedly* loses clarity after the 3/4th volume mark. I *stupidly* didn't copy and paste all of my *supposedly* usage.

not much because its only 5w diff and also the speaker drivers quality would factor into if it would sound good and make a difference or not,i would bet money the 530's sub will sound more like a 60w+
