Hi peeps my name is Jon most people call me noggsy(a nickname from school that stuck) I've been attempting overclocking since the core 2 days with mixed
results(i'm shit) but now that I've just got a decent rig together i'll be hoping to get the help I need to get the most from my skylake system. :)

Thanks i'm rocking
6700k
8gb avexir ddr4 3ghz (will be 16 or 24gb come payday)
asus maximus VIII hero
980ti
Samsung sm951+sandisk pro 480gb and 2 mechanicals
910watt psu

1st thing you need to do is get the BIOS on the Maximus Vii Hero updated, there have been a few updates to try and iron out the issues with overclocking (Go to the Asus support site, all updates are there). What make PSU you rocking and what sort of cooling do you have in place for the 6700k?

Bios is latest version as of this morning I have a pc power and cooling silencer 910w it's got a good amperage on the 12v rail http://www.guru3d.com/articles-pages/pc-power-amp-cooling-silencer-910-psu-review,1.html

I'm using a h100i temps are really low when I attempt oc's so i'm guessing it's just my noobishness if that's a word.
