Just a quick post to say hello.

Great forum you've got going on here, full of really useful info.

I'm a bit new to all this, only have a stock OEM PC at the moment though I have purchased a Sapphire X1950XTX GC to go in it which will shortly be followed by a new mobo as I didn't realise until I opened the puppy up that it only had an AGP x8 slot. Gutted!

Still if I get hooked on modding my PC as much as my car, expect a monster rig some time in the future.

For the mobo I'm looking at either the Abit AW9D-MAX or Asus P5W DH Deluxe, decisions, decisions...

Welcome mate! Hope you stick around post with us a bit :)

I don't really recommend either of the boards you are currently looking at. Some good boards on the market are the Bad Axe 2 (975x), P5B Deluxe (p965), IN9 32X-MAX (680i), P5WDG2-WS Pro (975x), and the DFI ICFX3200 (RD600).

Thanks all for the kind welcome. :)

I do like the look of the DFI ICFX3200 (RD600), but my only previous experience of clocking is winding up a wrist watch am I really going to make the most of the more expensive board?

I not bothered about spending the extra, but don't want to waste the cash on something I won't make the most of. Is it easy to get the benefits from the DFI over say the ASUS?

Thanks.
