HoN is basically an up to date version of DoTa.

No its based on DoTa which was a warcraft 3 mod (which was a RTS if you were so deprived not to have played it )

watch the vid, you basically choose a character at the start of a match (you all start at level 1), choose your skills, buy items to upgrade attack speed or whatever, farm up on "creeps" or NPCs.

Then depending on strategy try to "gank" a few players by trying to gang up on a player without giving them time to retreat/vice versa.

Also using your skills at the right time etc. is key in team battles. Such as your ultimate move can be a good assassination tool - such as a long distance shot - useful for fleeing enemies. Or your ultimate may heal all allies - use it at the right time.

Each match lasts on average about 1-2 hours. so nothing like mmorpg or wow

I'm new to O/C fourms but I've been voyeuring on here for some time, itching to play HoN wanted a beta key for weeks!
