Ok so I'm maybe not quite that paniced but still lol.

Today got my asus sabertooth in the door and went to work on installing it so now it's all installed with the 5850 all the drives and i7 920 installed and some cheap 6gb ram.

tryed to boot it up and it won't post there is no led for boot device or vga connector there is an led for memory and cpu so any ideas guys?

My first guess would be the ram. But since the LED isnt lighting up idk. Try reseating everything, and try to post with 1 stick of ram, to maybe isolate faulty sticks. Check your jumpers as well, sometimes they are on the wrong setting. What sort of PSU are you running?

running corsair hx750 and all the components all work fine as they were running this morning on my crappy packardbell x58 motherboard lol

I would pull it all apart, and breadboard style, try and post outside of the case. Make sure everything is well seated. Do you have a mem ok button? I hope you didn't get a board that was DOA

also I'v reseated everything but the cpu just cause it's a bugger to take off the cooler and reseat it and put on again lol but as i said gettin light for that anyway so i assume it is working if the sabertooth can't read the drivers for the 5850 it should still be able to send a signal though it for the monitor right?

well the board powers up so it shouldn't be a hardware problem but it won't post....also since i have no system speaker i can't here any book warning lol anyway around that?

Lol sorry for all the stupid questions, but alas, its the process. When you turn on your system, do all the fans pop on, and the cpu fan, harddrive light? etc?

nah I'm sorry for all the stupid question i throw onto these forums lol. yes all the fans boot at full speed all are connected to the motherboard fan connectors and both the system and hardrive powerlights come on

Perhaps not unimportant, did you connect a PC speaker? and if so, what sounds does it make while trying to boot?

not done a cmos reset shall go attempt that just now also how would i do a bios update if it won't post? and yes have speakers connected to the motherboard

Well I think your system is booting, I just think your not getting display out. Do you have another graphics card layin around? Also as suggested try and listen for a diag beep from your case speaker.

So what do you hear from the speaker when you tunr the system on?

For updating the BIOS u can use the Asus Crashfree BIOS utility. Chapter 3.2.3 in the manual.

And for the beeps from the system check chapter 2.1.0. (the .pdf won't let me copy-paste)

I read upto chapte 2 for install lol so seen the bit with the beeps but there are no beeps at all fom the speakers i'm guessing it would have to be a onboard speaker you'd have to put on for it to work gonna go read up on crshfree just now

Yes, it does indeed require a PC/Case speaker (or whatever they are called

) and not the regular audio.

Also check which LED's are on, if there are any LED's besides the usual standby power LED(located on the bottom edge of the board) are on then you will have a problem there. For the LED locations, check 2.9

righ that idea would be shot down by the fact i have no access to the biosthere is no video signal running through the card I'v tried swapping the slot the 5850 was in and also tried using my nvidia 230 on bothe the pci-e slots i'm trying to try everything before panicing lol

Isn't it supposed to upgrade the Bios automatically? So without any input?

I don't own the board unfortunately so I can't test it for you, but from the manual I understand that it should upgrade without any user interference.

It's supposed to be there for situations where the BIOS doesn't work.

i have a sabertooth, might be of some help. when you power the system on a series of LED's should light up.

The LED's should go -

CPU-RAM-VGA-SB

do any of these stay on, or not come on at all?
