i have a rampage 3 extreme with a i7 980x + radeon hd cross fire graphics and i need a liquid cooling kit and ive been searching up anddown but im lost for ideas,

please help, the noctua is amazing but i have my eyes on water cooling + the noctua takes up too much space for my liking

i dont want too much just something that can cool my cpu like the noctua nh-14 butu obviously it wount bulk up my cpu area like the noctua

get back to me

thanks

Quick note here, you will need more radiator space (at least 240mm rad) to cool an overclocked i7 980X in the way a Noctua NH-D14 does. A 120mm rad won't get close to the cooling performance of the NH-D14. However you will have to take a look at your desired case to see if it will support a 240 or maybe even a 360 rad.

Sensible. And I know you said the NH takes up a lot of space but what the heck were you thinking of putting in that space?

Only kidding but yeah, the Noctua might well take up space but you can't really put anything else there.

If you really want to water cool this system you can. Have a look at some of these items before deciding.

I presume you're using the Bitfenix colosus mentioned on your other thread so, on that assumption I would recommend a pump reservior combo like the XSPC X2O 750 L/ph 12V Pump Rev2 with Dual Drive Bay Multi Fascia Acrylic Reservoir.

For any i7 s1366 CPU I would recommend the Swiftech Apogee XT Extreme CPU Waterblock for Intel 1366

Radiator wise, I beleive the Colossus can hold 140mm fans so you could possibly fit a Phobya G-Changer V1.2 140mm Single Radiator.

If not hen try a Thermochill TA Series 120mm Single Radiator

I personally use a Thermochill PA series 120 mm and it cooled my old QX6700 kentsfield admirably. It's currently cooling my GPU loop.
