Yea i know its a rather old board, but tis really only a minor bit of help i need with it, can i stick 2 gigs of ram in it, as a tried with 4 512 sticks and it bluescreened, i was expecting it to do so since most things dont like 4 sticks. but do you think it would support 2*1gb sticks?

They are supposed to support it, but I dont know of anyone who has tried - you have to remember that back in the day, 2x512mb was enough for anyone.

I guess as long as you aint overclocking corsair value !gb sticks would suffice.

yea i know, i bought it back in the day, and 2 512 sticks was enough then, butn ow it isnt and i cant afford a new rig (cos i'd want AM2, andi'd need new everything right down to the cpu heatsink) it's overclocked a little, the chip can't seem to handle anything more than 3.4 ghz now and its 3.2 stock, i had it up to 4 when i got it.

well i'll try it, if it doesnt work i'll have 2 gigs of ram up for sale.

... your going to be running 2x1 gig sticks ? in a p4c800.

You can start buy increasing alittle bolts to the northbridge,

slacken the timings off to 3 3 3 8

or run it 5:4 divider mode and test for stability

Hynix is what ya want

I got 2 256mb's of it spear here

just sold my 1gb of it

Max volts on agp will make your nb work

max ram too

dram to 8

all performance off too as it slows down at high speeds
