hi all i have OC my q6600 to 3.0ghz on my board gigabyte EP45-UD3L ..with x9 multiplier and system memory multiplier (spd) 2.00 then 2.4 ..everything was well either with games or software but with cold boot meaning after 7 to 8 hrs or less, when rebootin PC everything goes back to previous 2.4ghz ..its doesnt happen with frequent startups only cold boot ..i have tried putting voltage to auto and same happend , i tried increasing voltage gradualy even to 1.4 and same happend ..during restart the startup window always stops at the word memory and then restart again ..my memory is at 1:1 ratio , it happend also with my old gigabyte board so i baught this new one ..i thaught the problem was from the board but it seems not !! could it be of the RAM as i have got 2 new 4g in addition to my already 4g OCZ 1066 ??

i have already posted 2 attachement for my BIOS settings

thanx in advance

Try setting your memory to 'unlinked' and manually enter the speed of the ram or alternatively, increase the latency timings, up the voltage of the ram and (linked) set the ratio to 5:4.

Go on to the RAM manufacturer's website and search for the reccomended voltages. My OCZ allows me to go up to 2.2 although I'm currntly at 2.0 with stock speed @ 800 Mhz with 5-5-4-2T timings. I had to set the RAM to 'unlinked' and enter the settings manually. Personally, I couldn't get stable at oc'ed ram frequencies above 1066, which was linked @ 5:4. If the site doen't say then try google with "(your RAM) ,overclocked, voltages"

You may find that the RAM just isn't oc friendly on your set up.
