Help with I78700K+Asus Strix Z370i

Hi
So i have a prob with my cpu or the motherboard
with this settings i can get stable with the same cpu on a Maximus X Formula

8700K 5.0Ghz 1.35v

This is normal or i'm doing something wrong?

The Maximus X Formula is a much higher end motherboard than the Strix so it uses higher quality chokes, Mosfets etc... that could be the reason you can get better results with the Formula compared to the Strix.
 
I know is better board
but i have to go a bit high on CPU Core Voltage and i saw some reviews with lower V.

"We were able to easily achieve a stable 5GHz when manually overclocking with the tiny Asus board, and the system remained stable once we’d dialled the voltage back from our initial 1.3V rating to 1.29V."

As NBD said you cannot go by a review as their CPU will be different to yours i.e silicon lottery.
