Help with GFX cards

Hello Guys.

I was wondering for some good advise on gfx cards that would suit my set up?

My specs are:

Intel QX9770 3.2gb

Asus Maximus ll Formula Board

8gb Kingston Hyper X ram ddr2

1TB hdd drive + 2x 500 hdd

coolermaster V8 Cpu cooler

antec 750w ture moduler psu

windows 7 untimite 64bit

asus GTS450 video card

Coolermaster scout case

I have found out that my mother board is a crossfire board and can only take ATI cards but not sure. I have the ASUS GTS450 1gb at the mo but keep haveing the display cutting out but it works fine in BF3 but do get gfx issues that freeze the game up also this happens on other games.

So i was wondering what ATI card would be best for my system without losing power etc as in the past i have made the mistake of putting a highend card in a rig with a low spec cpu and it wouldnt run it well enought.I play games like BF3, Dirt 3, Need for speed the run, FSX and a few other games. I been looking at the XFX Radeon HD 6790, XFX Radeon HD 6970, Sapphire RADEON HD 6950 and i have a max of 200- 250 to spend but am confused to what ones would be the best.

so any advise would be great.

best to answer this first off do you plan on some day upgrading the rest??? if so get what ya want so what if the cpu bottle necks it that will change with upgrades later. I'm about to run dual 260GTX core 216's on a E8400 rig just cause I can they will most likely work better on something a lil more current but oh well I can do that later when $$$ presents itself
