Help with deciding what fans to buy!

I was thinking myself that it'd be the Scythe Gentle Typhoons. The 1850 Rpm. From what everyone says they seem good. They say they're silent and offer the best static pressure. But I want to make sure I'm getting a quality product. And please please please, if there are better fans with similar noise or less. Please tell me. I just want the best quiet fans!

It looks like the Nexus is Silent and performs well. I guess I always thought More CFM was always the key. But it cools better. Thanks! Might get these instead.

I've been using the Nexus fans for a few years and find that you can run them next to near silent at 5v and then dial them up for better cooling. You may also want to take a look at Yate Loon. The Nexus fans are effectively Yate Loons but with a max rpm of 1050. Some Yate loons go upto 1350 or even higher, but these are not quiet without a voltage mod or fan controller.

Do you know how good Gentle Typhoons are? People say they're quiet and high cfm with great cooling for H50s, it seems as if many people use them.

I think the D12SL-12 is the one to go for as this has a maximum of 1350rpm. The others are rated at 1650 and 2000, which will be pretty loud. The Nexus Real Silent case fan is basically a D12SL-12 with a max rpm of approx. 1000.

Okay, so my best bet is this D12SL-12?

Even at 1350 rpm they won't be silent, I used to dial the Nexus's down to 600 rpm or 5v, then you'd have to put your ear right up to them to hear the sound. But then if you start overclocking you'll need to push more air.

I suppose the only way to know is buy a Scythe Gentle Typhoon 1150 RPM and a Yate Loon 1350 RPM and see which one you like the best. Each fan makes a different tone, and may be more annoying to one person than another.

I've just bought 3 D12SL-12 red led fans for a new project. I plan on using the onboard Q-Fan control on my Asus board to keep them in check, or I have an old fan controller that I may dig out - haven't decided yet. But its nice to have that silence and then when you need it everything dials up a notch...
