Help wiring speakers

So im getting Skytronic SHFB55B speakers and the wires at the back look like this:

How do i wire that up with my pc? I have seen a few ways but i need a sound card that has white and red inputs. (dont know their real name) i cant find any that are under £50 and are pci-e 1x. Is there a way to hook it up to 3.5mm or a converter i can get? Any help would be appreciated.
 
the only way i did it before is with a pre-amplifier in between speakers and pc
not sure if there are other ways
 
No.
They're proper passive speakers. They need to be amped.

I use passive speakers - always have, and I use mine with a Sony HiFi, not sure if you have a spare micro-hifi or something around?
Look for something like this:

Or go to a cash-converters near you and look for a cheap hifi system - they always have them pretty cheap.

Otherwise, you'd need an amp of some sort like:

Yeah ill have a look in cash converters and see if they have anything. Do some hi-fi's have 3.5mm jacks or will i just get an adapter?

700w amplifier that small, that cheap and made in China...?

Think of it like you would a power supply. You wouldn't get an AX650 that small would you.
Even 150w amps are the size of sky boxes.

I'm not sure what else to suggest? I use 60w speakers on a 30w output hifi (I think) and they do run fine. Try and find a mini hifi locally for £10 and test it out. Won't really lose much by doing that


Edit: Most of the Sony ones have Phono input - you can get cables for 3.5mm to phono for a quid off ebay.
 
Go into your local pawn shop and look for an old Hi-Fi Amp, they are better than most new amps under 200 you can buy today. The old school amps can drive 600 ohm headphones without ANY issues.
 
I've heard only good things about the TA2020... Yeah sure it can't drive your speakers to 140w, but 20w (per channel, hopefully) isn't too bad... Also meant to hit miles above it's price in terms of sound quality...

If you do however need to annoy your neighbors, I got nothing :(
 
That 700W one is only 25W RMS, look at the pics on ebay.
I have a TA2020 amp from Topping but don't use it anymore. It makes an annoying hissing sound even with the volume at 0.

Bought it in China through ebay so sending it back would cost too much for what it's worth. They don't all have that problem according to reviews so it's a bit of a lottery.

Also like with low power tube amps you need high sensitivity speakers to get a decent sound out of them. At least 90dB.

Get some cheap (second hand) amp with more power if you really want to use those speakers.
 
If you want something simple yet effective, I recommend taking a look at Scythe Kama Bay Kro-amp. I've had two of them since I ruined the first one by mixing up + and - when I powered it directly from a car battery. I blame beer! :P

Looking at the 6 ohm label I assume you'll get more than enough volume from the amp.
