I need a bit of help please…

I've installed my new bits of kit (mobo, PSU, memory, GC, CPU) and when firing it up for the first time it won't go into Windows (XP home).

On boot up it says: No array defined!

I've tried to reinstall windows however although the hard drive shows in the BIOS when I try to install windows it says no hard drive found?

Do you think it might be just the jumpers on the hard drive need changing since I have changed the mobo? Any ideas what is going on and what I need to do?

I have changed the following:

Mobo: Bad Axe 2

CPU: E6700

HDD: Western Digital WD2500JD

GC: X1950XTX

Mem: Kingston Hyper KHX8500D2K2/2G

PSU: Enermax Infiniti 720w

Thanks.

If you are only using 1 Hdd It sounds like you need to disable Raid/Sata in your bios.

(dont mess with the Hdd jumpers)

I do only have 1 drive yes so I'll check that out, I thought it might be that I need to install the Matrix storage technology RAID driver or Marvell SATA controller RAID driver that came with the mobo, but these are floppy's and I don't have a floppy drive. :( Could that be the problem?

SATA is configured as IDE.

Thanks

Worked it out in the end!

If anyone else is having this problem you need to disable the secondary SATA in the BIOS and haypresto!
