Help Overclocking a 7970

Ok, so first time OC'ing a GPU

So how do i go about it?

Increase the core by 25mhz at a time and then run 3d mark 11 or something to make sure its stable? Do i run it repeatedly or just once?

Also how should i go about OC'ing the memory?

What sort of problems should i look out for a sign ive gone too far?

sounds like a plan to me.

If you push the core clock too high then the 3d mark run will crash

I read that if you push the memory too high then performance will decrease but in the benchmarks i didn't notice this, more so noticed it in the games.

id say for a 7970 if you're not going to go about flashing BIOS's just push the sliders as far as they will go in CCC (should be 1125 and 1525) and it will all be good

not bad, was that with the max that the stock BIOS will go to the as that is similar to what i scored at 1125 and 1525
