help needed for gaming pc

That mesh system looks a good spec for the price tbh :) especially if you don't want to build a system yourself.

Core2Duo's (or Core2Quadro's) are deffinately the way to go atm.

The Mesh is a good spec for the price if you want a ready-built system.

The components equk listed are very similar spec but better quality. Difference is you'd have to build it yourself.

I did a Froogle for equk's recommended components and got it down to £673 (inc. VAT). All different suppliers though so you'd have to pay P&P for each item.

I can let you have the links if you want.

Unless your hubby is willing to build it for himself I would go for the Mesh. It's all made and has a warranty on thw whole thing. If he is willing however, those are decent components

Sounds like a ok system, some expensive parts in it tho

Would've gone for a intel Core2Duo myself :)

Hope your husband likes it tho. All you need now is a Dell 24" :D

Glad to hear you've got one sorted, tho IMO one of the systems the other guys specc'd up for ya would have been more suitable. I also hope that the EZ Cool PSU doesn't blow up on ya as i've never heard of that company before :s

Hehe no not at all. It's just the PSU is one of the most (if not THE most) important part of any PC. Going for budget PSU's is not advised as some lack safety features and there's plenty of horror stories of PSU's killing everything inside the PC.

If you got a good warranty with the PC tho, it doesn't matter too much ;)

Not really. No name PSU + high-end system =
