a lot of people had problems with XFX on here lately, seems like their support is crap.

I emailed them regarding my fail 7970 and it took them over a week to reply and when they did it was useless.

There's usually a good reason for that though tbh.

If I didn't regard them highly I wouldn't have mentioned them, in fact I've just ordered the Platimax 1200W. According to everything I've read and seen, build quality, component choice and engineering is top notch, and performance is nothing to sneeze at either.

But you do pay for it, is all I'm saying.

Absolutely. You're a lucky man tbh, that's pretty much the best PSU on earth IMO.

I am indeed, although health-wise my existence leaves a bit to be desired. Can't have everything I suppose

Sleeving the cables is gonna be a bitch though.

i still switch few part. i went with a corsair psu and a 670 egva graphic card since i can OC it. i also changed the psu like you suggest me.

I am slightly confused: The build list still shows a Seasonic PSU. Not that it greatly matters, both Seasonic and Corsair make good PSUs.

If you wish, you could save a few bucks on the RAM (maybe go for normal Dominators, or Vengeance), but the Platinums do look awesome.

Otherwise, this looks like a good buy list.

oh now i am jealous.
probably going to get myself a set of dominator platinums as well, i have no idea why so many manufacturers fail at making their dimms look good. the platinums are pretty much the best lookings dimms on the market and then there is nothing for a looong time. especially gskill ripjaws i find to look awful.

thanks everyone. i said i was waiting a week before ordering. all done. every parts of this list are mine now.

For now, i removed the bluray reader since i will use my wife one in network if i really need.

At this point i'll like to have a front bay with my temperature display in it but i cant find a great looking one ( hope you know what i mean with this front bay )

Forgive me, haven't read the entire thread, wanted to recommend a different build since there's tons of parts you should of changed which would of saved you a ton of money as well, whilst you PC's performance staying the same.

Nevertheless, congratulations, and good luck with your build .

i don't see a whole lot you could cut down besides the RAM and the mainboard maybe.

another time.. went for the job... went back kid were on it.

Funny enough, we never really had that issue in our family (PC users: dad, me, three younger brothers and mum when she absolutely had to :lol.

Dad didn't really mind us using his machine for browsing and office/school work since us young lads knew enough not to screw it up. It helps that he is quite easy-going. Even if you screwed something up (and of course, on a few occasions this did indeed happen), as long as it wasn't with bad intent he just couldn't get mad ^_^. He was just happy his young boys were interested in technology.

And once I bought myself my first personal machine (when I was around 15 years old), I never really cared if somebody in our family used it since we respected each other enough not to do stupid shit.

Even now (people around: dad, his gf, her daughters) I don't mind if somebody uses my PC. Of course, I'm running Linux and they don't have any passwords that would allow them to do any serious damage (Linux makes this very, very hard if you don't have admin access) or to access my personal data. I'm generous, not stupid

Although physical damage to my machine naturally can't be prevented by such measures. Luckily, I live neither with very young children nor with ill-tempered people, so barring an earth quake (not likely where I live) I should be as safe as can be reasonably expected.
