Just to tie this topic up... I didn't get any one of those monitors and decided to go with the Hyundai L90D+ 8ms... Fuckin best purchase I've ever made!

^^

Yessur, been rockin't for months now and it's the best purchase i've made in quite some time. Not a single complaint with it. No dead pixels, ultra vibrant, super-bright, no ghosting.... LOVE IT!

how much is it going for these days mate?

I know I'm new here (so please don't bite my head off) but have you considered the 19" Widescreen Acer? AL1916W

It's 8ms and got some good reviews. It's also very cheap (I don't know how easy it is to get from Canada , but it's somewhere around $330CDN)

I know widescreen isn't for everyone... just thought I'd offer something different

I bought a Sony SDM-HS75P 17inch tft a few months back for £300  (about $520) and all I can say is holy-sh*t. Compared to my old Packard Bell CRT (lmao) this rocks. Although it is uber reflective so that can get annoying when lights shining on it. I recommend tft's over crt's easily for quality and space.

£300?? thats very expensive for a 17 inch. A few months back i got a 19" iiyama 12ms response time 500:1 contrast ratio for £190 which i didn't think was too bad. Tis a great monitor too, especally considering i was using a 15" crt lol.

The Aria monitors are relatively quick and at £130 for a 17", it's definitely worth a punt. One of the problems I've always found with Sony is that they trade on their name rather than their reputation.

I have the Acer AL1916w widescreen as of last week.

Very happy with this and once you've tried widescreen you won't go back.

Widescreen game support is patchy, see here

I got the Acer AL1722h as planned... and I'm not too happy with it, at least running off integrated graphics on analog connection. More info later after I try the DVI

Right this thread is annoying me.
