Help me bench my 7800gt

I need help benching my 7800gt which i cant get over 6978 it is clocked at 491/1133.

my system is:

P4 3.0 @ 3.46

abit aa8-xe

xfx 7800gt

ide sp 200gb hdd

audigy 2 zs

cheapo ram

What PSU have you got?

What cooling is one the graphics card and the CPU?

Well...without voltmods or better cooling..thats about as far as it`ll go. You ight be able to get 500 out of the core if ya edge it up slowly

well for info i have a cheap 350w psu at the moment which is being replaced on sat by a hiper 580w and i still have stock cooling on the gpu but i have an old ish coolermaster on the cpu but they will be replaced soon with artic cooling parts.

as for volt mods i wanna do that to my card and other things but hopefully at xmas i will get some watercooling for it so will see then what i cna do with it and i wanna get it as high as i can

Try putting back the p4 to stock speeds and see if the results get lower and by how much. The p4 may be unable to give enough data per second to the card, so it's idle for some of the time, whilst the cpu tries to catch up (basically, the card may be too damn quick)
