Hey,

need help badly,

just installed a watercooling loop in my pc,

everything went ok,

but then went i went to boot it it did nothin,

i put in the LCD poster, n it stopped at INIT ROM,

which according to the manual it means 'initializing option ROMs.'

the other thing is that on the gtx 295 card 'a' goes into the pci slots

n card 'b' is where the dvi cable goes,

when i try to boot the led on the back of card 'a' flashes green for a sec n then red, card 'b' does nothin,

tried pluging the old cooler into card 'b' n it didnt spin, could it b the

sli connector? but thats a pain to get at, (gotta drain the system to pull the card out),

ne help/ideas would b greatly apriciated,

cheers,

Joe,

I'll go with the popular one:

Have you plugged in the 8-Pin motherboard 'EPS' connector? It normally sits above the CPU.

OK,

i've done loads of faffing about n come to the conclusion its the

graphics card,

(i put an old one in n it works)

i've dissasembled it and reassembled it to make sure the lil sli connector

is still attached, but its seems so weak n easy to become dislodged i still

dont know if i've actually done it right,

also, does the lil conector have a specific direction?

i'll post pic's if u want?

tis a pain cos i've to drain n refill the whole system netime i wanna pull the

card out,

hey mate

Are you 100% you have the 8 and 6 pin plugged up to the gpu, if you try with two 6 pins it will not boot.

What PSU are you using too?

as you have an old card pop it in with the GTX in the second pci-e slot. do not sli them.

upon boot see if the card is recognized

just noticed, can i hazard that you have put a waterblock on your GFX??

If you are taking the card out again remove the block and run the card under a UV light. Like most of us watercooling folk i trust you have one :) . you may be able to see a water stain.

this will show up if the block has leaked and shorted the card.

also inspect the cards for straight shorting onto the block. some blocks have had known issues in the past :(

The internal SLI connector for the individual cards are crap and like I said in the review, would make watercooling the card very tricky.

I'm going to stick my neck out and say the internal SLI ribbon has become detached from one of the four ports. If you look at the connectors themselves they have an arrow on them, these should match up with an arrow on the card iirc.

FYI: If all is working well you will get green power led's on both cards as well as a blue LED on the master card which you should have your monitor plugged into.

its alive!!!

thanks w3bbo,

it hit me that the ribon mite b directional about the same time that

u posted that,

i'm a muppet,

so happy that 650euro aint goin down the swanny,

its alive again,

load temps on gpu were 94 on air, now 45 on water,

proper,
