HELP: CPU Block Corrosion

Hi guys,

After taking my rig apart a little while ago for a motherboard RMA, I left my XSPC Raystorm just kind of sitting around with the thermal paste still on. I finally got around to cleaning it today, but some of the spots aren't coming off. Looks like it's corroded or something in some areas. Tried to get as best a picture I could of it, it's hard when it's so reflective:

Should I be concerned? Is there anything I can do? I'll contact XSPC and see what they say.

Yeah if XSPC says "Suck it up" that's probably what I'll do. A quick Google is making me think lapping is a lot easier than I thought it was.

a slow dip in distilled vinegar will shine it right up. no vinegar, then sitting
in a pool of ketsup or catsup. i'd bought some water blocks and they were
stained, so i poured a 3mm bath for the copper to sit in and monitored the
progress every 15-20min. after 45min bright and shiney. lapping can have
a tendency of de-crowning areas that may/may not be important. plus
can be a lil off and worsen the situation.
