corrosion help?

Worst Kinda Duy

New member
So I tore down my loop today to find out all my blocks had corrosion build up, the cpu block was the worst. My loop consists of Nickel plated copper cpu and gpu blocks, a D5 pump, a 2x140mm frontal copper rad, a 3x120mm upper rad, and chrome fittings.
I was on my phone while taking these pictures:

I bought a new cpu block and thoroughly cleaned the water blocks. The gpu block in the picture is the worst of the three after cleaning. during Can anyone tell me if the blocks are safe to use? I replaced the cpu block with an all copper ek supremacy and switched my fluid form distilled water to EK nano fluid.

Long story short is all my stuff done? can I still use my blocks and rads or my pump?:(

Does EK Nano Fluid include biocides and anti corrosion as well? if it does then you should be good to go. I personally use Mayhems X1 clear coolant in my rig that has everything included in it.

No problems fella that is what the forums are for ;) I have my eyes on that white XSPC Raystorm block atm I just have to wait until I have the Moolah for it :p

That is a sick looking, is there really any performance difference tho between that and the supremacy evo? i went with ek cus i liked how it was just a square

I kinda got tired of the Raystorm block after a little while. Then again its pretty much the same for everything :D

TBH I wouldn't know without testing both myself I have a white rig so it would be Aesthetics. I use a Raystorm block on my cooler however the Raystorm Pro has been more refined so I would say XSPC have done more R and D on their blocks

When pascel drops ive decided to pick up three of what ever the pascal 980 ti would be and have a separate loop for my cpu and gpus. I would also get a bigger case and pretty much two new water loops and i guess water cool my server with my leftover parts. still have no idea what color id choose. Ive always done red and black because ROG but they are not too friendly with water cooling, long story short I use to have 4 980s.

Can't view the pictures when I'm at work but I just wanted to check that it was definitely corrosion, and not algae / mould buildup? Corrosion when dry feels dry and crumbly, whereas algae or mould will feel slimy. Did you add any biocide or corrosion inhibitor to your distilled water, or have a silver kill coil in the loop?

Right, definitely corrosion then. PTnuke is a biocide, and does nothing to prevent corrosion it just kills anything organic within your loop.

Switching to a premixed or concentrated coolant with corrosion preventers and biocides already in the blend will prevent any future problems.
