Help choosing a motherboard

Sudden

I currently have/had an Asus P5N32 SLI Premium motherboard which is now no longer working so need to replace it. Could people here please recommend one? It needs to be compatible with the following -

Ram - Corsair 2x1 gb C6400 xms2

Processor - x6800 (Socket 775)

PSU - tagan 900 W

gfx - 2 x 8800 GTX EVGA (SLI)

HD - WD 74 and Seagate 320

Looking to spend maximum 200 pounds. Cheaper the better though :p Want something stable and capable of handling SLI since I already have the cards.

Thanks for the help!

You could go for a 780i or upgrade to DDR3 for a 790i. The 780i northbridges run hot so make sure you have some cooling for it. Try EVGA, XFX or possible an asus Striker

I have a Zalman 9800 for the CPU (or a similar no. don't remember exactly) and a 80mm front, side and back case fan. Is that good enough? (Keeping in mind i'm running SLI with stock cooling).

Which one would you recommend out of those 3? I would like to move away from Asus, but wherever I look online, they seem to be the online boards that most online retailers are selling.

Also, is it worth moving to the 790? or is the price difference not particularly justified? (not looking to upgrade any other components unless I absolutley have to).

As long as there is a fan over the northbridge, I wouldn't worry too much. The jump to 790i would need DDR3, which makes it probably too expensive to be worth it. The 790i do overclock better, but the 780 is much cheaper and only needs DDR2 which you have.

Yea, that's pretty much what i've decided on now. Problem is it seems to be impossible to get hold of an EVGA 780. I found one now which I think is genuine. What would you suggest between that and the asus striker 2? I've heard a lot of horror stories about Asus RMA so would prefer to avoid them unless there's a good reason I should be going with the striker instead?

Thanks for the help!

The 750i might be worth a look too, could be hard to find but should be going really cheap right about now, something such as the EVGA 750i FTW.

Also according to the benchmarks there wasn't much of a difference between the 780i and the 750i.

The Striker II is a 790i, the Striker is 780. If you can find an EVGA or XFX one, I'd go for it, seeing as Asus RMAs (unless you can change them at the store) are stupidly long.
